Welcome to Klippa. These Terms of Use govern your global use of the Klippa iOS application and the website https://myklippa.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.
Terminology
The following terminology applies to these Terms of Use:
- Company, We, Us, or Our refers to MDEVSA (PTY) LTD, registration number 2023/984467/07, located in Gauteng, South Africa.
- Service refers to the Klippa iOS application ("the App") and the website https://myklippa.com ("the Site").
- You and Your refers to you, the person accessing the Service and compliant to the Company's terms and conditions.
Eligibility and Users
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have the agreement and permission of your parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
The Service
Klippa is a personal spend tracker for iPhone.
- How it Works: The App records what went out of your accounts by reading Apple Pay and Wallet taps, as well as bank SMS or email alerts already on your device. This relies on Apple Shortcuts, App Intents, and on-device parsing.
- Nature of the Data: Klippa does not show your account balance or a "safe-to-spend" amount. Capture of your spend is incomplete by design, as it relies strictly on taps and available alerts on your device.
- No Bank Connections: Klippa does not connect to, log into, scrape, or aggregate your bank accounts. There is no account to create within the App.
- On-Device AI: The App offers optional conversational features (Ask/Roast) using Apple's on-device models. Your spend history is not sent to Us for AI processing.
- Waitlist: The Site may collect your email address for a waitlist (for TestFlight or launch announcements only). Joining the waitlist is not a paid subscription and does not come with a ship-date guarantee.
- Analytics: We may collect anonymous product events (such as onboarding screens viewed) via PostHog to improve the App. This data does not contain names, emails, transaction amounts, or merchant names.
- Not Financial Advice: Klippa is not a bank, does not provide payment or banking services, and does not provide regulated financial, legal, or investment advice under any jurisdiction or financial authority worldwide.
Subscriptions and Payments
Access to certain features of the App requires a subscription.
- Apple In-App Purchases: Subscriptions are handled via Apple In-App Purchase and will be charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- Pricing and Duration: The duration and price of the subscription are those shown by Apple on the paywall and the App Store at the time of your purchase or renewal. We may change subscription plans in the future, but you will only pay what Apple shows you.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellations and Refunds: You can cancel your subscription and request refunds exclusively through Apple (go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone). We cannot process cancellations or refunds directly.
- Free Trials: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Payment Data: We do not collect or store your credit card numbers. We use RevenueCat to receive and manage anonymous purchase and entitlement statuses.
Licence and Intellectual Property
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the App for your personal use worldwide. The Company owns the Klippa name, logo, software, and all related intellectual property rights.
Restrictions
You must not:
- Republish material from the Service.
- Sell, rent, or sub-licence material or software from the Service.
- Reproduce, duplicate, or copy material or code from the Service.
- Redistribute content from Klippa.
- Use the Service in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is extremely important to us. Transaction data stays on your iPhone and is not uploaded to our servers. For detailed information on how we handle your data, waitlist emails, and anonymous analytics, please read our Privacy Policy at https://myklippa.com.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company excludes all representations, warranties, and conditions relating to our Service and its use. We do not warrant that the Service will be complete, accurate, or error-free. You acknowledge that Klippa's capture of transactions is incomplete by design and is for informational purposes only.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Nothing in this section or these Terms will limit or exclude liability where applicable local law forbids such exclusion or limitation.
Termination
You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting the App from your device and ceasing to use the Site. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Service at any time, without notice or liability, for any reason, including abuse of the Service or a breach of these Terms.
Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Service.
Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal disputes or claims arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of South Africa, unless mandatory local consumer protection laws in your home country grant you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
